Item Description
A fairly uncommon find Fluorite specimen from the Cookes Peak area in New Mexico. The piece is filled with well-formed, GEMMY, strong green colored octahedral crystals measuring up to 3.1 cm, sitting atop an earlier generation of almost silvery colored cubic Fluorite matrix. There is a chunk of hot glue attached to the back of the piece, which I can't be sure if it was used to attach the piece to a base, or possibly stabilize it. The top / display side of the piece is in good condition, and the lower portion is understandably contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. A fantastic piece to add to any Fluorite suite, especially a collection of pieces from Luna County. Valued $750.
The specimen comes from the collection of David L. Stoudt, with a label from the collection of Chris Cowan.
