Item Description
Here we have what I would say are some of the most distinctive and unique Chinese Fluorite specimens that I have seen. They have a very interesting two-tone appearance featuring a generation of sharp, translucent, cubic golden-yellow Fluorite crystals measuring up to 7 mm sitting atop a previous generation of purple Fluorite underneath. There is a lot of Fluorite that has come out of China in the last 20+ years, but these pieces from Tongbai are certainly distinctive. From the collection of legendary Colorado miner, Dave Bergman. Dave is now retired, but mined all over Colorado and was most famously the former the foreman and primary person in charge of recovering specimens at the famous Sweet Home Mine near Alma, Colorado during the late 1970s. He is also the maternal grandfather of Brian Kosnar. See Dave's photo mining at the Sweet Home on page 58 of Peter Bancroft's book "Gem and Crystal Treasures".
