Item Description

Here we have one of the great "classics" from the United States. Some of the most colorful and stunning Fluorite specimens ever found in the United States (or virtually any world locality) are those from Hardin County, Illinois. This district produced literally tons upon tons of some of the finest quality, multi-colored Fluorite the world has ever seen. This specimen features a predominant, sharp, gemmy lustrous, cubic "phantom" crystal of Fluorite measuring 2.6 cm on edge. The colors range from a sky blue and sapphire blue exterior to a reddish-purple hue to alternating zones of gold and lilac hues. The quality is excellent, and the main crystal is virtually damage free on the display side. The final touch to the piece is a small, sharp, lustrous, bright golden color crystal of Chalcopyrite which is frozen inside of the main Fluorite cube! Like all specimens from this area, the color always looks better in sunlight, and the crystals are more vibrant when viewed outdoors. This area is completely closed down and there will never be any more Fluorite mined there. A colorful and gemmy full sized miniature display specimen of this well known material.
