Fluorite is one of those stones that is not found in a lot of gem collections. It comes in virtually every color and is common all over the world. Despite the fact that it is abundant, it is NOT the easiest material to facet. This particular stone is a fine vibrant purple color "Oval Cabochon" cut gem. This stone came from a Brazilian dealer who assured it is truly from Brazil, which makes all the more impressive as there is little in the way of gem quality Fluorite from what is otherwise one of the largest gem producing countries in the world.
