Item Description
Interesting Fluorite from the uncommon Huraiskoye Fluorite Deposits in Russia, from what appear to have been small finds in 2022-2023. This piece is a dramatic multi-layered specimen showing a translucent grape-purple Fluorite with slightly curved octahedral faces some with subtle stepped growth. The Fluorites measure up to 2.7 cm across with triangular faces up to 2.1 cm high. There is a faint phantom due to a darker purple core that can be clearly seen from the bottom. The Fluorites are preferentially covered with what appears to be a contrasting white to lavender microcrystalline Fluorite. These both rest on a layer of tan microcrystalline Calcite. The piece is in near pristine condition. These Russian Fluorites, especially of this fine quality and exemplary color, are very hard to find on the market. Definitely an unusual style and location that would be a great addition to any worldwide Fluorite collection. We saw a small lot of these and bought it at Tucson 2024, and have not seen more of this style since.
