Item Description
The Moscona Mine is a well-known Spanish locality, which for years has been providing collectors with fine quality, showy and colorful display specimens of Fluorite. In recent years we've seen a good amount of beautiful golden colored crystals, and this piece is a wonderful example of said material. Like most of the Fluorite-producing mines in Asturias, the habit of these crystals is cubic, and these classics are easy to recognize for their wonderful form and eye-catching color. This specimen is filled with dozens of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich golden colored cubic crystals of Fluorite measuring up to 8 mm on edge on matrix. There are tiny Calcite crystals that can be seen on select faces for a nice touch. A minor amount of metallic Marcasite inclusions can be seen inside some of the Fluorites as well. No major damage that I can find on the top/display side of the piece. When the Fluorites are backlit, you can see right through some of them, as they are virtually water clear! A very attractive and excellent example of these well-known Fluorites.
