Item Description
An attractive and interesting Fluorite group from the fined in the Balochistan area in Pakistan dating back several years. This area is probably best known to collectors for its beautiful fiery "Alpine-type" Brookite specimens, along with excellent Anatase crystals. This Fluorite specimen is not from a cleft deposit however, and it is certainly not what one would expect from this area. I have seen some of these specimens in the hands of other Pakistani dealers, and they all say they're coming from Balochistan, so I'm certain the locality is legit. This attractive small cabinet display specimen features sharp, "built up" cubes with an interesting color that is largely purple when backlit, but shows slight colorless and rare smoky hues depending upon the temperature of the light in which its viewed. There is color zoning starting in the center and working its way to the exterior, but the crystals don't really show traditional "phantoms". The largest crystal measures 3.1 cm on edge. Overall, the piece is in great condition, and the only "damage" is the roughness around the periphery where the piece was separated from the rest of the pocket. If you're a Fluorite collector, don't miss out on this one, as few are available these days from this locality.
