Vivid, bright-green color, as well as a rich, cornflower-blue fluorescence, are two well-known hallmarks of the popular Fluorites from Riemvasmaak. Fluorites from this well-known locality are predominantly octahedral, with the largest crystal here being sharp, translucent-to-gemmy, and a substantial 3.6 cm on edge. The color, fluorescence, and densely-intergrown nature of the crystals on this large plate well-represent this famous locality. Interestingly, you can clearly see stages of growth where the drusy coating has been removed. This is not often the case, and adds a lot to the quality and the aesthetics. A complex, large, showy fluorite of big size for what we see from these early 2000s finds, today. All are gone, in collections!
