Item Description

Sculptural intergrown cluster of very glassy and lustrous, gemmy, water-clear, colorless to lightly tinted fluorite cubes from famous Berbes. The large cube at the top is 3.4 cm on edge and the 2.7 cm cube, just below, with the three striking, contrasting, iron oxide blebs is a highlight. Internal crazing in some of the cubes adds interest. Interestingly, the cubes do not fluoresce. See the 2024 Berbes! Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 55, No. 1. Formerly in the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection No. 18839CL and acquired in 2001. The glassiness, luster, clarity and internal crazing made photography of these gemmy crystals difficult. MUCH better in person. A fine example of colorless Berbes fluorite.
