Item Description

Vivid, bright-green color, as well as a rich, cornflower-blue fluorescence, are two well-known hallmarks of the popular Fluorites from Riemvasmaak. Fluorites from this well-known locality are predominantly octahedral, with the largest crystal here being sharp, translucent-to-gemmy, and a substantial 3.7 cm on edge. The color, fluorescence, and densely-intergrown nature of the crystals on this large plate well-represent this famous locality. Orange River has produced similar specimens, and sometimes pieces are labeled as such, but the majority are from Riemvasmaak. From the early 2000s, now famous finds here - and never repeated!
