Fluorite

Item Description

This huge, solid plate of multicolored fluorite is from older finds at the famous fluorite locality in Namibia. It features purple/green zoned crystals to nearly 3 cm in size, maximum on a few crystals. The piece is almost pristine, which is remarkable for any specimen of this size from the location! It is a thin but strong plate that seems to have come cleanly off an attached matrix rock behind it, and so it is not as heavy or massive as it looks, and yet has a great and big presence to it on display. It shows dramatically on a custom made lucite base (for which somebody paid around $500 at one time), which comes included for free. This is likely from the 1980s finds here.
