Fluorite

Item Description

Striking, water-clear, pretty green, "ice" fluorite cubes are densely intergrown on this impressive and sculptural large plate from mid-2000s finds at the well-known Xianghuapu Mine of China. The compound cubes are very glassy and lustrous. The dominating, well-placed cube in the center-top is 4.5 x 4.5 cm and the cube on the left side is also 4.5 cm across. All of the cubes have subtle interior phantoms under bright light, adding character and interest. Tiny, colorless Calcite rhombohedrons, to 3 mm, are sprinkled on the cubes at the top of the piece as a bonus. Rich purple LW UV fluorescence. The interior is pristine. 1164 grams or 2.6 pounds mass.
