Fluorite

Wonderful architectural piece showing intergrown cubes of a transparent to translucent, lustrous, NEARLY colorless Fluorite from Naica. The sharp well formed large cube in front measures 4.2 x 3.3 cm. The outer edges of the cubes are ice clear and transparent with the interior of the piece having just a faint mint green color from the contacted side where presumably it sat on matrix. The piece is in good condition with some minor edge bruises and contacting that doesn't detract from the overall stacked "ice cubed" appearance. Colorless or "pure" Fluorite, as chemical impurities cause coloration, is only found in a few locations worldwide and can be difficult to find. This is a excellent pure Fluorite piece with superb sharp crystal faces giving it a very structured three dimensional form. Valued $750-plus.
