Fluorite

Item Description

Here is an attractive little piece of Fluorite from the De'an Fluorite Mine in China. The crystals are essentially cubic in habit, but they are "built up" with thin overlapping layers of faces, which is different from the traditional octahedral fluorites we're used to seeing from this mine. The color is mostly purple, but with backlighting you can see green tones near the center of the crystals, but the combination of colors is still a signature from De'an. The lower section of the piece has some notable etching, creating a very ethereal appearance. Not your typical piece from this mine, and certainly worth adding to any Fluorite suite or Chinese mineral collection.
