Fluorite

Item Description

An attractive and interesting Fluorite from the Balochistan area in Pakistan, which is probably best known for it's beautiful fiery "Alpine-type" Brookite specimens. This is not from a metamorphic cleft deposit, and it is certainly not what one would expect from this area, but I have seen a few specimens in the hands of other Pakistani dealers, and they all say they're coming from Balochistan. This attractive small cabinet display specimen features sharp, "built up" cubes with an interesting color that is slightly lilac, slightly pink, slightly golden and slightly smoky depending upon the temperature of the light in which its viewed. There is color zoning starting in the center and working its way to the exterior, but the crystals don't really show traditional "phantoms". The largest crystal measures 3.3 cm on edge. Overall, the piece is in great condition, with only a few small nick, and really looks better in person. If you're a Fluorite collector, don't miss out on this one, as few are available these days from this locality.
