Item Description

Intense golden-amber crystals of fluorite to just over 2 cm, make this a solid block of color impact from this famous old German locality. This piece is newly back to us after lab cleaning, to release from the Kurt Hefendehl collection for the first time. It is simply colorful with a saturation so different than any other yellow fluorite from Morocco or Illinois, and so glassy in luster. Apparently, this was from more recent finds of the last 50 years, although crystals going back to the 1800s are known. The entire display face is nearly pristine, but for a few small damages to peripheral crystals. It is one of the richer, larger examples. Valued $2000-plus.
