Item Description
A rarely seen specimen featuring soft golden-yellow colored Fluorellestadite measuring up to about 4 mm, sitting on rich periwinkle blue colored Calcite matrix. Fluorellestadite is typically seen as microcrystalline material from this locality, so defined euhedral crystals are significant. For reference, this material was formerly called Ellestadite-(F) and "Wilkeite", but the correct name according to the IMA is Fluorellestadite. We have photographed the little Fluorellestadite crystals with a macro lens to better show the quality. These are rare on the market, and it's my understanding that this locality is closed, and may never produce these specimens again. From the collection of Colin Manlove.
