Fluorapophyllite with Stilbite (2014 find)

Item Description

While common as a species, we love the truly unusual examples of apophyllite and have followed India for decades in search of them. This specimen hosts a number of lustrous and translucent, sharp and geometric pseudocubic fluorapophyllite crystals to 5 cm across - this is an unusual crystal habit of isolated and almost cubic (i.e. pseudocubic, not really cubic)  crystals standing on matrix. Also, they have an unusual green-yellow color for this material, from a find of 2014. These are fabulous crystals from that unique discovery! Several lustrous, ivory colored stilbite crystals, to 3.8 cm in length, also adorn this specimen. These crystals are, unusually, a more intense green color when viewed side-on (and those sides are extremely sharp and lustrous!). Small white laumontite crystals are in association.
