Item Description

The famous Pashan quarries near Pune are generally considered to have produced the very finest Indian fluorapophyllites and this is an aesthetic and rare combination example from the Mervyn Ford Collection. A beautiful spray of glassy, mint-green, sharply terminated crystals is flanked by rare for the locale, coatings of tiny heulandite crystals on the bit of basalt matrix. The interior is pristine. High quality, rare material with only a bit of periphery wear on the lower right. The quarries all closed in the late 1980s - early 1990s, due to population growth.
