Fluorapophyllite w/ Calcite

A fantastic looking large matrix apophyllite combination specimen from the well-regarded Pune District of Maharashtra State. A 9.0 cm, doubly terminated, very glassy, colorless, tetragonal apophyllite crystal with a 2.3 cm crystal strikingly projecting upward is dramatically set atop the sculptural combination matrix. The sharp pyramidal terminations are water-clear gem and beautifully accent the translucent bodies. The drusy quartz crystal-covered basalt matrix is richly peppered with smaller apophyllites and accented with a striking, centrally placed, single, gemmy, very blocky, 3.7 x 2.5 x 2.0 cm, calcite rhomb. Very nearly pristine, except for the wilber at the tip of the vertical apophyllite crystal. India has produced a dizzying variety of outstanding Zeolite Group specimens and this is an exceptional and extremely aesthetic large combination example. It comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base, valued at $145, for free.
