Fluorapophyllite on Heulandite with Stilbite

Item Description

Appealing shallow pocket lined with light peach to cream colored Heulandite crystals highlighted by a single glassy mint green Fluorapophyllite and associated white bowtie Stilbite crystals. The Fluorapophyllite crystal measure 2.4 x 2.1 cm and is moderately centered making for good visual balance. The well defined crystal is translucent with very good luster and a more saturated green core that transitions to a light green edge. There are a few Stilbite crystals with the largest measure 2.8 cm long and positioned above the Fluorapophyllite. The base coverage of Heulandite crystals are well formed cream to white color with a pearly luster. There are a couple of dings present on the Heulandite coverage, with the rest of the piece being in great condition. A definite "less is more" display style where the Fluorapophyllite is the center of attention as it sits cradled in the Heulandite pocket. Ex. Jack Halpern Collection No. 2188.
