Fluorapophyllite-(K) with Stilbite-(Ca) (ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection)

A beautiful combination of blue-green colored Fluorapophyllite-(K) associated with white bladed crystals of Stilbite-(Ca) sitting on a layer of cream colored Heulandite on basalt matrix from the lesser known Lonavala Quarry. The top/display side of the piece is loaded with crystals, and the combination of the green and white is an iconic duo from this locality. The largest Apophyllite crystal measures 2.4 cm. Very good quality all around, no major damage anywhere that I can see. Ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection. Along with amassing one of the finest private mineral collections in the world, Steve is a renowned mathematician. His accomplishments include being awarded the Fields Medal in 1966 along with being the awarded the Wolf Prize in mathematics in 2007.
