Item Description

A classic association specimen from the Deccan Trap featuring robust, highly lustrous, sharp, well-formed, blocky, green and colorless crystals of Fluorapophyllite-(K) measuring up to 4.1 cm which are associated with highly lustrous, soft peach colored "sheaves" of Stilbite-Ca. There is a small area on the back where a Chalcedony "core" can be seen. The main Apophyllite crystal at the center of the specimen is pristine, but the outer edges of the specimen are contacted where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. The various zeolites and associated minerals from India do not get enough credit for largely being the finest crystallized examples of their respective species extant. This particular specimen is actually from an older find, dating back to the mid 1990s.
