Item Description

A lovely example of these well-known Apophyllite specimens. This locality is most famous for producing the iconic "disco ball" Apophyllites, and this piece features the same radial style of crystal growth, but in a more limited amount, so it's not a full "ball", but rather a partial "spray". The glassy, prismatic crystals have a gentle green hue in the center, which transition to virtually colorless on the terminations. They are sitting atop a bed of bladed pale beige colored Stilbite-Ca, typical for the locality. The largest Apophyllite measures 2.0 cm. No major damage that I can see, and it's very showy .
