Fluorapophyllite-(K) with Pectolite

The Upper New Street Quarry in Paterson, New Jersey is a famous locality, dating back well over 100 years old. It originally opened in 1893, but nearly 100 year later (the mid 1980s and into to the early 1990s), there was a lot of collecting that took place between the Upper New Street and Lower Street Quarries in an area that is affectionately referred to by some as "Middle New Street". The majority of the specimens from this area are still labeled as being found at Upper New Street even though they were not found in the quarry itself. This specimen hosts fine quality, sharp, well-formed, blocky, white/colorless crystals of Fluorapophyllite-(K) measuring up to 1.8 cm, associated with chalky white spherical aggregates of Pectolite measuring up to 2.2 cm across, sitting on minor Prehnite and Datolite on basalt matrix. Good quality, no major damage and rather showy for the material.
