Fluorapophyllite-(K) on Stilbite-(Ca) (ex Dr. Stephen Smale Collection)

Item Description

Here we have a highly aesthetic and downright beautiful association specimen featuring a 2.9 cm, sharp, lustrous, blocky, green and colorless crystal of Fluorapophyllite-(K) sitting atop dozens of lustrous, white bladed crystals of Stilbite-(Ca) from the lesser known Lonavala Quarry. The reverse side of the piece shows a bit of reddish-pink inclusions of an unknown substance (possibly just iron oxide) inside of the Stilbite crystals, giving them a beautiful contrasting hue against the white background. A small secondary Apophyllite can be seen on the back of the piece, but it's mostly covered by the Stilbites. Very good quality all around, no major damage anywhere that I can see. The piece is nearly a complete "floater", as I can't find any major points of contact, but there is one small spot which could be where the piece was connected to the pocket wall.
