Item Description

These specimens are some of the most distinctive Apophyllites from any locality. A hard-to-find specimen of Fluorapophyllite-(K) from Murdochville featuring sharp, well-formed, thick tabular crystals with a pearly luster and a silvery colored interior - with a white exterior - measuring up to 1.0 cm on matrix. The mine has been closed since 2002 (it opened in 1955) and specimens of this unique and attractive material are very rare on the market these days. . Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#5470). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
