Most Apophyllite around the world is white or colorless, but the various localities in the Deccan Trap in India have produced the finest GREEN Apophyllite crystals in the world. The color is due to the presence of vanadium in the crystals, creating one of the most memorable green hues in the mineral world. This piece is a wonderful cabinet display specimen featuring a pair of top quality, razor-sharp, highly lustrous, GEMMY, beautiful green colored crystals of Apophyllite measuring up to 2.0 cm which are associated with little pearly white Heulandite crystals sitting on a matrix of drusy Chalcedony which is colored a dark green hue from Celadonite inclusions. There is also a beautiful gemmy Calcite rhomb sticking out of the matrix as well for a nice touch. Fine quality all over, no major damage and very eye-catching. Valued at $2,000 retail.
