Item Description

A beautiful large miniature / small cabinet sized specimen of the famous green Fluorapophyllite-(K) crystals from Jalgaon. This locality for decades has been producing superb quality crystallized examples of various zeolites and associated mineral (Apophyllite species are not actually zeolites, though they are often found in association with them). What makes most Apophyllites from India so distinctive is that they contain a small amount of vanadium content, which causes the green color, rarely seen outside of India, as most other Apophyllites are white/colorless. This piece hosts a gorgeous 1.8 cm crystallized "sprays" of rich blue-green colored Fluorapophyllite-(K) with sharp gemmy crystals, associated with little soft peach colored blades of Heulandite-Ca and almost colorless blades of Stilbite-Ca on basalt matrix. Very showy and fine quality. Although there many be a good number of these specimens from India on the market now, they should truly be appreciated for their quality as most of them are the finest crystallized examples of their respective species ever seen.
