Fluorapophyllite and Stilbite

A classic of Indian minerals, this is a combination piece of gem green apophyllite on stilbite. What makes it superior is the balance, size, and quality of the elongated apophyllite crystals, with their superb gemmy tips that come to a sharp point. The large crystal is 9 cm, just under 4 inches long, and doubly terminated. The perch on pale peach colored stilbite gives it a look like it is floating above a cloud. Two accenting crystals provide a more complex geometry. While there is a lot of apophyllite from India, to be sure, we are very enamored of this style of elongated, gemmy, textbook crystals of large size combined with a classic mint green color - this is atypical amongst the general run of the material that comes out, and really only has come out a few times in decades, in this quality. It is an older specimen, acquired from the collection of Dr Robert Woodside in Vancouver. Valued $3500-4500 for the superb balance, quality, color and gemminess that really take it to another level compared to most such specimens out there.
