Item Description

Sharp and exceptionally lustrous, these rich pink fluorapophyllite crystals sparkle with a brilliance that is truly captivating. The pink color in fluorapophyllite is highly unusual, and the pearly to vitreous luster is extraordinary. The crystals are set on a matrix of phonolite, a highly unusual deposit. This specimen hails from the Samson Mine, dating back to the 1800s, and is a very good, aesthetic thumbnail that stands out for its rarity and beauty. Most such specimens should also date to the 1800s although there was one modern era find in the mid 1900s, we have been told. Ex Jingnan (Tom) Zhang.
