Item Description
Wow! An impressive and excellent large combination specimen from the famous Bancroft area of Ontario. The two, striking, large, fluorapatite crystals are the obvious highlight. The textbook, hexagonal crystals are 8.0 cm (lower) and 7.5 cm long. The highly lustrous layered crystals are partially tranlsucent and have rich variable color ranging from bright yellow-green to cranberry. Both of the crystals are sharply terminated, with the lower crystal having a broken base. That's a 3.2 cm, tan, diopside crystal above the apatites. Classic pink calcite covers much of the matrix and the multitude of smaller, black to green crystals are pyroxenes. Older and classic large combination material. This monster displays very well without aid. 11.5 pounds or 5.2 kilos.
