Item Description
An attractive specimen of the famous, yet elusive pieces of Fluorapatite with "Martite" from Iron Springs, Utah. This piece features a handful of sharp, lustrous, translucent, soft yellow color prismatic Fluorapatite crystals measuring up to 1.2 cm long associated with Hematite pseudomorphs after Magnetite (Martite) on iron based rock matrix. Two of the Apatites are in good shape, but a few of them are contacted. One rarely sees these pieces on the market these days, and if you collect Apatites or minerals of Utah, do NOT miss out on this one. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7936). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
