Item Description
An older specimen from the 1970s from Panasqueira featuring many sharp, tabular, soft greyish-purple color, translucent hexagonal crystals of Fluorapatite measuring up to 6 mm across, associated with scattered black crystals of Cassiterite on a thin layer of matrix. Purple is almost certainly the most desirable color for Apatite, and you don't see a lot of Apatite with Cassiterite from too many world localities. No major damage that I can see, and good quality all around. From the collection of Richard Kosnar (1946-2007), well-known mineral dealer and collector from Colorado, and the namesake for the phosphate species, Kosnarite.
