Fluorapatite with Calcite (ex Kay Robertson Collection)

Item Description

Some of the most iconic Apatite crystals in the world have come from Panasqueira. This piece is a wonderful full sized thumbnail featuring a 2.6 cm, robust, thick, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, soft green colored tabular hexagonal crystal with minor associated Calcite and no matrix. The top / back and left edge of the Apatite is contacted, so the piece is not completely pristine, but it still displays nicely and is a great representation of this beautiful classic material. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
