Fluorapatite with Albite on Quartz

The word Paraíba for many people will conjure the image of electric colored Copper-bearing Tourmaline crystals and gems, but plenty of other species are found in the state, including beautiful blue Fluorapatite crystals. This piece came from a recent discovery at Campina Grande featuring sharp, gemmy, lustrous, beautiful rich blue colored crystals of Fluorapatite measuring up to about 2 mm across associated with white bladed Albite (var Cleavelandite) sitting on a prismatic, slightly smoky colored Quartz crystal. You rarely seen any Apatites from Paraíba, let alone sitting on Quartz matrix like this. It's notably different from almost anything you'll see from the area.
