Item Description
A classic large 5.7 cm yellow-green apatite crystal from Cerro de Mercado is artistically presented on the sculptural large quartz, calcite and apatite matrix wedge. The glassy, lustrous, translucent, terminated, modified hexagonal prism has a crackly interior. Matrix specimens of this large size with a fine large crystal are hard to obtain and are seldom on the market, due to the blasting used to excavate the iron ore. SW UV light reveals, that the apatite is flanked by neon-green hyalite opal. A nice bonus.
