Item Description
Beautiful lilac-colored, glassy, gemmy/translucent, hexagonal apatite crystals, to 1.0 cm, cover all sides of this very rich and colorful monolith from Afghanistan. Complete all-around and pristine, this is a classic and excellent example of the color and style from this noted locale. Mustard-yellow SW UV fluoresence with surprising patches of neon-green hyalite opal fluorescence! Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 7892 and acquired in 1976 (OLD material from Afghanistan!). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
