Item Description
A classic example of the rarely seen variety of Fluorapatite (Carbonate-rich Fluorapatite) which was known for a time as "Francolite". The Levant Mine was one of the last deep mines to close in Cornwall (1980s). Lustrous, translucent, chocolate-brown, hexagonal crystals up to about 3 mm cover the underlying matrix on this rich specimen. Classic rare material and a must have for any Cornwall collector. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10868). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
