Fluorapatite var: Carbonate-rich Fluorapatite on Prehnite (rare)

Item Description

A notably rare specimen Fluorapatite var: Carbonate-rich Fluorapatite from the famed Foote Mine in North Carolina. This is the only specimen of this material that we've had to offer from this locality. A 1.2 cm radial group of pale pink Carbonate-rich Fluorapatite sits on a layer of pale green Prehnite on matrix. There is a small bruise on the Carbonate-rich Fluorapatite group, but it's forgivable considering the immense rarity of the material. If you collect rarities or minerals from the Foote Mine, this is something that is worth picking up for your collection.
