Item Description
VERY rare and highly unusual botryoidal apatite from a most obscure mine near famed Mina Ojuela. Lustrous, translucent mint-green botryoids cover the rolling 3-dimensional mounded matrix. Glassy, colorless calcite rhombs and scalenohedrons peppered on the botryoids are a sparkly accent and compliment. Botryoidal apatite is EXTREMELY RARE worldwide and this is an exceptional example from the Kay Robertson Collection # 2519. She acquired this from Brad van Scriver at Glendale Show in 1962. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). White fluorescence.
