Fluorapatite (rare locality)

Item Description

A seldom-seen specimen of green Fluorapatite from the Aravakurichi locality in Tamil Nadu, India. The piece is a well-formed hexagonal prism with first and second order pyramidal modifying faces on the termination. The color can be described as a "watery" green hue, and the crystal is translucent for all intents and purposed when backlit. There are a few minor imperfections, so the piece is not completely pristine, but it's still an attractive and colorful example from a lesser known locale in India. For reference, this crystal is labeled as coming from near Hyderabad in India's Telangana state, but I'm told this is erroneous information, and the crystal was likely sold/purchased near Hyderabad instead.
