Item Description
There are a few minerals which form in "Faden" growths. Most people are familiar with "Faden" Quartz, but this is a gorgeous and hard to find "Faden" group of Fluorapatite crystals from the famous discovery at the Sapo Mine. This small cabinet specimen features sharp, lustrous, attractive Fluorapatite crystals of a soft green hue, which are interconnected due to the internal "Faden" (German world for string) line that runs the length of the piece. There's even a little "baby Faden" flaring off of one end for a nice touch. Very choice and aesthetic example from this famous discovery, as I can't find any damage, save one small point of contact on the end where it detached from the pocket wall.
From the collection of retiring French mineral dealer, Michel Jactat.
