Item Description
This is an incredibly large fluorapatite crystal from Imilchil Mine compared with other finds, and just looks unusual to the eye for both shape and texture at first glance. Probably one of the largest crystals have been found, the vertical striations are just spectacular in that the reflections of light makes it have a bicolor look to the eye in light. It was in the Dr. Bob Downs apatite group collection, in Tucson. Dr. Downs is a well-known mineralogist and the Co-founder of RRUFF Project. Ex: Bob Downs, Jingnan (Tom) Zhang Coll.
