Even worldwide, Durango Apatite crystals at their very best, from a few historic finds, set a standard for color, sparkle, and gemminess. Only when they are so gemmy as this, so transparent and clean, do they become truly valuable as thumbnail specimens. However, while I can recall seeing literally thousands of loose single gem crystals, this of all of them stand out because it is a highly elongated gem crystal ON MATRIX. This makes all the difference, between this one and others, for a competitive thumbnail collector. This specimen is a highlight from the long lost collection, which recently resurfaced, of BIll and Sharon Panczner. This auction features worldwide selections and old classics from the collection of Bill and Sharon Panczner collected from the 1960s. The TN suite was assembled mostly in the 1960s through the 1980s and was shown in competition. This specimen is special!
