Fluorapatite is found in virtually all colors of the rainbow, but the most sought after hue has to be purple. Outside of the pieces from Golconda, you don't see a lot of purple Apatites from any Brazilian locality. Here we have a really eye-catching and aesthetic display quality toenail sized specimen featuring sharp, lustrous, translucent, prismatic, hexagonal purple colored Fluorapatite crystals measuring up to 7 mm sitting atop very dark green (nearly black), prismatic Tourmaline crystals. A very attractive piece of this highly sought after shade of Apatite. Good condition, very little damage overall. From the collection of Shields Flynn.
