Item Description

Wow, a great Alpine classic! Swiss Alpine minerals are among the most desirable for collectors, especially when you get outside of ordinary Quartz specimens. This piece features remarkably BLUE colored Fluorapatite crystals (caused from inclusions of Clinochlore - "Chlorite") which are sharp and lustrous, but highly modified, so individual crystals are difficult to distinguish. The Apatites have formed beautiful "rosette"-esque groups which are sitting on a "floater" crystal of Quartz, which is also colored somewhat of a blue-grey hue from the Clinochlore. I've never seen a piece quite like this before, and it comes with a label from Peter Indergand of Guschenen, Switzerland, so the locality is verified. Probably from a small one-time find, like many discoveries in the Alps, and very hard to find on the market these days.
