Item Description

A very high quality combination specimen from this noted Bancroft area locale, famous for betafite crystals. A lustrous, doubly terminated, hexagonal, mottled green to yellow-brown, fluorapatite crystal is strikingly and aesthetically perched on a thick "book" of pearlescent lepidomelane (an old synonym for Fe-rich biotite). Complete all-around and pristine, this very fine and rare in this quality combination piece was probably collected in the active mining period of the 1950s.
