Item Description

Chumar Bakhoor is well-known for its superb specimens of Aquamarine along with its wonderful Fluorites, but it doesn't get the recognition it deserves for producing some of the finest Fluorapatite crystals from any locality in Pakistan or Afghanistan for that matter. This piece is a really special example of this classic material featuring a great, sharp, very lustrous, soft pink color, notably prismatic (not commonly seen from this locale) hexagonal crystal measuring 1.8 cm long sitting atop a crystallized group of excellent quality, sharp, thick, GEMMY, soft golden colored Muscovite with minor associated white Albite. When backlith, the Muscovite "books" show a beautiful internal glow, which is not commonly observed from Chumar Bakhoor. The piece is in excellent condition, as the Apatite is essentially damage free as far as I can tell with the naked eye, and the only imperfections on the piece is around the base of the piece where the crystals separated from the pocket wall. A very showy and three-dimensional display piece that would make a fine addition to any pegmatite mineral collection or a suite of worldwide Apatites. Lastly, the piece actually displays quite well on its own without the aid of a base or clay! Priced in the inventory at $1,950.
