Item Description
Purple, gemmy, Pulsifer apatites are certainly THE most sought-after apatites in the United States and are amongst the most desirable in the world. They are SELDOM available in ANY market. A 9 mm, sharp, lustrous, gorgeous orchid-purple, gemmy to translucent Pulsifer apatite is dramatically set at the base of the cleft of RARE for the locale, intersecting pearlescent cleavelandite crystal plates. Part of the edge of the terminated crystal is dinged, but this remains an exceptional, aesthetic and RARE combination example of this ultimate East Coast classic species. Valued $900-1000-ish to the worldwide market I think I would say, but you SELDOM see combinations of this form and size. When they do turn up, priced at a flat $1200 or $2000 since they always DO seem to sell. They remain the world standard for purple fluorite, after all these years. From the Pat Woodman and an East Coast collection.
